If I could take one thing with me on a desert island than it would be Bear Grylls, the former military survival expert and generally tougher than a tough thing TV star is now sharing his skills with you on your iPad. The app itself is very well presented and easy to use but in terms of content, considering the premium price is a little light!
The 18 chapters feature a total of 40 video clips, 35 interactive features, a fitness routine and various mini-games and features. These vary from useful – the compass – to filler – bear’s favorite inspirational quotes, anyone?
It is hard to judge this app too harshly as the limited information featured is very useful and during testing my chances of surviving for longer than five minutes in the wild have definitely improved. Yet the price point sets the bar a little higher than the content delivers.
